| Every Christian has a choice. Either we "walk by the Spirit" and do what He desires, or we keep in step with the sinful nature and do what we desire. Either we choose to present our bodies "to sin as instruments of unrighteousness," or we choose to present ourselves "to God as those alive from the dead," and then yield our bodies "as instruments of righteousness to God." When we choose to yield to God, we choose to "walk by the Spirit" and to draw upon His strength and power in order to live holy and righteous lives. Black and white lives we live. Which do you choose? (Measure of a Man by Gene A. Getz) | | |
| So I repainted today... ...and as demoralizing as it was I threw on some Journey, which is as good of repainting music as any I guess, and repainted away. I got to thinking though, to no inspiration of Journey's soothing symphony of sweet sounds at all might I add, but I entertained the notion of being made new. There must've been something about covering that which was stained a dark shade of what it once was, or maybe I forgot to open the window again. For real though, three summers ago I did some construction work that ended in me doing all the tedious painting and coffee runs and the only reason I bring this up is because I did alot of staining that summer too. For those who, scratch that, everyone should know enough about staining to skip the explanation; I made untouched wood come to life! And I remember taking a small joy in it too. There was just something about transforming the dull and lifeless into a brilliant existence. Today, the joy of my salvation was restored! | | |
| Back at School: I've learned to type in sentence case! I still pen in all CAPS but thats a forever thing I'm thinking. I painted my room, and got busted. Which if you don't mind me sharing has brought about some sweet conviction in my daily life. I've noticed that I've been attempting to glorify myself in these "silly" endeavours. Although living in a blue room for a week has been and would've been the most liberating thing for me, the inmate. I see now, however, that God needs to be glorified in all that I do even if it means not blatantly breaking a rule that will allow me the joy of living a colorful dorm life. It's good to be back though. JESUS PAID IT ALL- ALL TO HIM I OWE And I'm off to Philosophy | | |
